Personal History
Andrew has been engaged in the music industry all his working life, both in music retail and as a piano tuner and technician.  He began training in 1986 principally under Mr Geoff Meredith a well respected Isle of Wight tuner / technician who had worked for Broadwood Pianos.  Further training was received on a national level when he attended classes led by the highly respected tuner / technician Mr Malcolm McKeand as well as courses held by piano manufacturers such as Yamaha and Kemble.  Andrew is also a qualified member of the Pianoforte Tuners Association, having had to pass both practical and oral examinations in areas of tuning, repairs and piano construction.  He regularly attends the national Pianoforte Tuner’s Association Convention where technical classes are held.  ‘I believe it is so important to continually build on existing skills by receiving further training and instruction such as that given at the Association Convention’.

In 1989 Andrew was employed as principle piano tuner and technician for W. Teague and Co. Ltd. on the Isle of Wight, a position he held until 2001 when he started his own business providing the Island with a first class piano tuning and repairs service.  Since 2001 the business has grown at a phenomenal rate and now Andrew looks after hundreds of Island resident’s pianos, as well as tuning for music teachers, schools, churches, and at concert and musical venues, Island wide.  Andrew is also in demand on the mainland where he has a growing client base.  ‘I believe we offer the Island’s first choice for piano tuning and repairs with a professional and friendly service’.

As well as piano tuning and repairs, Andrew is also involved in introducing clients to second hand pianos for sale as well as to suppliers of new and reconditioned instruments.

Andrew is married to Liz who is responsible for the administration of the business. He is also an organist and pianist, being the appointed Organist and Director of Music at St. Paul's Church, Barton, Isle of Wight.
